What is Exophthalmos?
Exophthalmos is most often a complication of Graves’ thyroid disease. In some patients, the condition affecting the thyroid will spread to the orbit of the eye, leading to the formation and accumulation of orbital fat, which causes a protrusion of the eyeball, or exophthalmos. The only treatment option for this condition is surgery. LIPO-102 would represent the first non-surgical therapy for this debilitating condition.
